Product Enhancement

AIG is constantly listening to our customers’ feedback and making improvements to our products. We are pleased to inform you that some changes have been made to enhance AIG’s Travel Guard Direct to stay relevant to customers’ needs.

Work is already underway at AIG to enhance our Travel Guard Direct product, including covering travel delays on an ‘all-risk’ basis, i.e., the travel delay is covered provided the delay was not caused by the action(s) of an Insured Person.

In the interim, and with immediate effect, we will be covering travel delay claims on an ‘all-risk’ basis. This applies to all travel delay notifications with an event date on or after 1 September 2018, irrespective of the policy purchase date and/or travel departure date.

Please note that the policy terms and conditions related to Section E of the Travel Guard Direct policy are still applicable, together with the clauses relating to Part 3 – General Definitions, Exclusions & Conditions. When submitting the travel delay claim, the claimant still needs to provide written proof by the Common Carrier clearly stating the reason for the delay and the period of the delay.

The existing policy wordings available on our website will continue to be valid, unless otherwise stated here. We thank you for your continuous support.
